Real talk on the newsletter growth: - Months 1-6: wrote consistently, got about 200 subscribers, mostly people I knew - Month 7: one issue hit on Hacker News front page, jumped to 4,000 overnight - Months 8-14: slower growth, referral program helped, crossed 10k - Month 18: a creator with a big audience mentioned it in their newsletter, gained 8k in a week - Month 24: 50k The uncomfortable truth: about 60% of the growth came from two lucky breaks that I couldn't have engineered. I wrote good stuff. That was necessary. But it wasn't sufficient. Anyone who tells you they have a repeatable formula for this is either lucky or selling you a course.

โAdmits luck. Shows actual numbers. Warns against course-sellers. Barely slop. The judge is almost impressed, which is extremely suspicious.โ
